Before I took this class, I was not a big fan of social media nor did I use it that much. Now that I have to use it, I have noticed that news does spread very rapidly on social media sites.
Breaking news is spread faster through social media sites than through traditional forms of media. For someone like myself who is always on the go and not in front of a television all the time, carrying my Blackberry comes in very handy.
I like how social media sites such as Twitter spreads the word quickly. Its more convenient than traditional forms of media.

I completely agree with your post, Dana. I thought social media were pretty much pointless until we got into our Seminar in Social Media. The advantages of social media are tremendous and every day I get more into such media as Twitter, Delicious and so on. I am finally starting to embrace social media and see the many positives of them.
